The Hebrew media adopts a selective approach in terminology as a journalistic base with its political and doctrinal depth. This is because this media plays an important role in deepening the political and ideological awareness of its followers.
Hence we can say that they are strongly involved in influencing them. The war on Gaza 2023-2024 was marked by the previous wars of the occupying power. It used a number of these terms that serve its people as well as the peoples of the world for the purpose of persuasion.
Among them is the Al-Aqsa flood operation, which was dubbed the “terrorist operation.” The occupying power has designated the operation with this term in order to deepen the idea that what the Palestinian resistance did on 7 October in terms of storming the settlements of the cover and accompanying them is nothing but an infringement on its security.
Its brutal response was bombing, killing, destruction and targeting of innocent people. The term “self-defence” emerged to justify the massacres, genocide, displacement, starvation, siege and other collective punishments it has committed and continues to commit.
When the peoples of the world stood against the violations in the Gaza Strip, they boasted of “the purity of weapons” and that their war was “moral.” The casualties are “collateral damage” to its operations, which falsely claimed to be aimed at destroying “terrorist targets”.
and other terms that lurked behind the mask of their selectivity. However, I will limit myself to what I have mentioned.
The October 7 operation came in response to the violations committed by the occupying power for decades, including the demolition of homes, the confiscation of land and property, unjust arrests and many others that we cannot do here.
However, the most important reason lies in the intention of this state, through far-right groups, to demolish the Al-Aqsa Mosque and establish the Third Temple, and the preludes to this were through the establishment of Talmudic rituals inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque and storming, a few days before the flood. By what right does the occupying Power come to label the operation as terrorist and the creation of terrorism?
Then, as usual, she claimed that the reason for the war was motivated by preserving its security and defending itself against the attacks of the Palestinian resistance and its rockets, which began with provocations as is its custom. In ‘67, it justified its war by saying that it was aimed at defending itself while since ‘63 it had been planning to seize the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and that what happened in ‘48 was a historical mistake that it fixed in ‘67, seizing the entire land of Palestine after provoking those around it. Today, genocide is being committed against the people of Gaza and justifying its action by washing words and falsifying them in front of the world.
It goes on to call its barbaric and bloody war against civilians “moral” and far from it. Is morality represented by killing, bombing hospitals, raiding water networks, destroying mosques, schools and universities? How can a moral criminal become in a war like the one taking place in Gaza? Then they boast of the purity of their weapons, and the purity is innocent of them!
The aim behind the use of such laundered terms by the occupying power in such an immoral war has become clear: to show its innocence and purity to the world and in return to put the Palestinian resistance in the dock and that it is the aggressor.
